The Cuttack Bhubaneswar Mar Thoma Church (CBMTC) is more than four decades old and traces its origins to a prayer group of a Malayalee Community residing at Bhubaneswar, (Odisha) and its nearby cities.
This community increased to such an extent that the need was felt for having their own dedicated worship place.
In January 1981 this group was accorded with the status of an Edavaka (Parish).
Subsequently a plot of land was purchased in Bhubaneswar and the foundation stone for the planned church was laid on 18th September 1999 by Rt. Rev. Thomas Mar Timotheos Episcopa who continued to be a strong source of guidance and support.
The Cuttack Bhubaneswar Mar Thoma Church [CBMTC] was dedicated on 14th June 2002 by Dr. Zacharias Mar Theophilus Suffragan Metropolitan.
